Japanese outpost at Nam Tau.
Our informants tell us that the Chinese junks which are
not registered in Hong Kong discharge at Nam Tau into others with
Hong Kong registration, and the latter make a quick trip round the Nam Tau peninsula to Un Long in the Kowloon leased Territories, or
sail down as far as Mongkok. The recent mine-laying operations in the
Castle Peak area precludes direct entry into Hong Kong harbour via the Kapsingmun Pass, and we presume that the junks must now make the long trip round Laan Tau and enter Hong Kong harbour through the East
Lamma Channel.
